Anthropic is diving headfirst into AI agents, and showcased their latest agentic developments on a virtual product keynote titled The Briefing: Enterprise Agents.
 

• During the virtual keynote today, leadership demonstrated how Claude can now operate as a research preview add-in inside Excel and PowerPoint.

• Anthropic launched ten new plugin templates that transform Claude into specialized agents for departments ranging from human resources to equity research.

• Claude now connects to Gmail, Drive, Calendar, DocuSign, MSCI, WordPress, Slack, and multiple other major tools.

• The event caused software stocks to rebound (DocuSign +6%, FactSet +5%, Salesforce +4%, Intuit +2.8%).

• Market volatility remains high as investors debate whether AI agents will act as a collaborative layer or continue to displace incumbent service providers.

• Analysts estimate that recent AI releases have wiped a total of 285 billion dollars from the global software market.

Base Not OP

Base is charting a new course, leaving the Optimism ecosystem to build its own tech stack. This architectural shift shows a growing trend of major networks seeking control over their scaling and upgrade cycles.

• Base is evolving its technical roadmap to a unified, Base-operated stack to accelerate protocol improvements and focus resources on scaling.

• The network has set a target of reaching 1 gigagas per second while increasing its upgrade cadence to six hard forks per year.

• Node operators will eventually need to migrate from Optimism’s releases to the base/base binary to remain compatible with future forks.

• This migration may lead to a projected 94% drop in income for Optimism following Base’s departure.

• Traders are monitoring the shift as a potential sign that Base is gearing up for their $BASE token TGE.

CLARITY Finally in Focus?

Momentum for the CLARITY Act is building as federal regulators and industry leaders align on a spring timeline for stablecoin legislation. Recent high-level meetings at the White House have established a clear path forward for resolving the remaining technical impasses.

• The White House has set a firm March 1 deadline for negotiators to reach a compromise on stablecoin yield structures.

• Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse recently raised the odds of the bill passing by the end of April to 90 percent following productive discussions.

• Polymarket odds show the public is less sure that the bill will pass, with only 55% predicting the CLARITY Act passes in 2026.

• SEC Chairman Paul Atkins endorsed the legislative effort during congressional testimony, describing it as essential for providing statutory grounding for digital assets.

• Ongoing negotiations are focused on distinguishing between prohibited passive yield and permitted rewards linked to transaction activity.
