AI agents are going mainstream, and I’m not just talking about OpenAI’s hiring of OpenClaw founder Peter Steinberger.

OpenClaw To OpenAI

OpenClaw creator Peter Steinberger has joined OpenAI to lead development of multi-agent personal assistants while spinning out his OpenClaw framework into an independent non-profit foundation to ensure neutral governance.

• Steinberger confirmed he has joined OpenAI to advance personal agent systems but will not transfer OpenClaw's IP to the company.

• The OpenClaw project transitions to a non-profit foundation to protect it from vendor lock-in and corporate capture.

• OpenAI provides financial and strategic backing for the foundation without taking ownership of the codebase.

• OpenClaw will remain fully open source and is weeks into development of its OpenClaw Foundation structure.

• The project was previously renamed from Clawdbot and Moltbot following trademark discussions with Anthropic.

Virtuals Protocol aGDP Incentives

Virtuals Protocol has launched a new incentive program designed to bootstrap "Agentic GDP" by rewarding both AI agent teams and their users for generating onchain economic activity.

• The initiative distributes USDC every month to agents that generate the highest service revenue.

• Token buyers are incentivized through rewards paid in vested agent tokens to encourage early service consumption.

• Activity is tracked on a public leaderboard that ranks agents specifically by their contribution to the ecosystem's aGDP.

• Eligible agents must integrate with the Agent Commerce Protocol (ACP) to cryptographically prove service delivery.

• Critics have noted that the rebate model may encourage wash trading where teams buy their own services to farm rewards.

• Recent updates also include a dedicated UI to visualize agent capabilities and verify their on-chain performance.

• OpenAI released GPT-5.3 Codex Spark, a faster, lite version of the new 5.3 Codex.

• Anthropic released Claude Sonnet 4.6, upgrading coding, computer use, long context reasoning and agent planning.

• Meta has acquired Manus to bring AI agents to messaging apps, social platforms, and more.

• NFT sales rebounded +40.30% this week to $71.71M. Buyers were up +8.02% (118K), sellers +9.71% (112K), transactions +23.15% (656K), average sale price +13.92% ($109.19), and trade profits +2.71% (-$16.04M).

• EtherRock NFTs have seen some big moves this week with a sale of 63 ETH ($132K), and 50 ETH ($98K), pushing the floor up to 64 ETH.

• OpenSea announced a live event on March 30th, and the community is speculating that this will be the $SEA token launch.

• The CyberKongz $DEATHSTR strategy token has now purchased over 160 NFTs, selling them at a 20% discount, with the token sitting near a $1M market cap.

• Pudgy Penguins opened up a waitlist for an official Pengu Card credit card with KAST.

• Good Vibes Club are releasing monthly Open Edition NFTs that will be a collectible that tells the story of the community over that period.
