For the Love of the Game (Market Commentary) |
Word on the street is that crypto is about to have a very big July. But will it be just the start of
the fireworks show, or are we heading into the grand finale for this cycle? That’s hard to predict, but major catalysts coming this month could bring record capital on-chain.
- The US Housing Chief has ordered Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to allow crypto as mortgage assets. This
means millions of traders who are wealthy on paper (or on-chain) can put their wealth to use in tangible ways that affect the economy.
- A major change to
crypto tax could help drive Bitcoin to become the payment token that millions have been hoping for. Senators will soon be voting on the controversial Big Beautiful Bill, and in that bill is a measure that would make $BTC transactions under $600 tax-exempt (up to $5K per year).
- The GENIUS and CLARITY Acts will likely be passed by the House and Senate this month, all while a
flurry of trade deals stemming from the tariff wars get announced over the next week.
Suddenly, crypto has matured both in utility and in regulatory clarity, and as the economy heats up (potentially with rate cuts as well), this market is ready to go risk on. If you’re wondering if that’s good for crypto, check out Ric Edelman calling for investors to allocate 10%-40% of their portfolio to crypto. Let the
fireworks begin.
Animoca Brands announced Moca Chain, a privacy-focused blockchain designed for decentralized identity and data verification.
- Moca Chain will be a modular, chain-agnostic EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain, with testnet going live Q3, mainnet Q4 2025.
- Users can unify their identity and data across apps and identity protocols, including healthcare, education, rewards, and finance.
- Moca Chain will be powered by the $MOCA token and be used for validators' staking, gas, storage, and verification fees to verify credentials.
- AIR Kit will be the entry point for protocols and apps to build and share data, users, and applications.
Virtuals Decentralizes Points
Virtuals dropped multiple major updates this week that help align the main crypto AI agent platform with the community.

voting on which agent tokens receive 10% of daily Virtuals Points.
- The community will also play a larger role in governing the Virtuals platform through a new
Virtuals Protocol Governance Portal.
- Holding 0.10% of staked Virtual allows you to create proposals, which are open for review/comments for 72 hours, and then open to a community vote. To pass, proposals must receive a majority of votes (50% + 1).
- Multiple proposals are live now, including a vote for establishing an Ecosystem Growth Fund, a Sniper Defense & Yield Fund,
and a grant system for Virgen Labs.
