For the Love of the Game (Market Commentary) |
Liberation Day arrives tomorrow, and with it a fresh new round of tariffs and uncertainty. But what
exactly the US population will be liberated from is the big question on traders’ minds. This week, the entire world is wondering if we’ll be liberated from profits in crypto. It’s one of the most important moments on our road to mass adoption.
For now, before potential chaos, we’re going to focus on what we do know - that big things continue to happen across AI, NFTs, and crypto.
Let’s dive into the
biggest stories of the past week.
The Doodles had a shocking announcement this week that lays out the direction of the major Web3 native IP. It’s not what the community was expecting, but their $DOOD token is dropping in just a few weeks, and AI will be its
utility.
- The Doodles announced a sprawling ecosystem for collaborative world creation and storytelling called DreamNet.
- $DOOD will be the top-level token of DreamNet, but characters and worlds created in DreamNet will be AI Agents and will have their own unique tokens.
- Legendary collector Pranksy voiced his dislike for both the AI agent and the speculative nature of the announcement. He has listed all of his rare Doodles.
- Former Doodles CEO Julian Holguin has listed his Doodle NFT for 6 ETH.
- Doodles co-founders (no longer part of the Doodles team) announced a 2nd (unrelated) project called
Project 02. The community can send ETH or SOL to a wallet to partake in a still unknown project called Degen Fusion.
Taproot Wizards Weak Spell?
The Taproot Wizards completed their mint last week, and after raising $25M in the sellout, have faced unrelenting FUD.
- The public sale ended in a Dutch auction, with 80 NFTs selling for .31 BTC. Over half of the bids were made in SOL.
- 60% of the collection was minted via a discounted WL at .1 BTC, while 30% was minted at .2 BTC.
- In total, the sale brought in roughly $25M for the Taproot Wizards team, making it the biggest NFT sale on Bitcoin to date and one of the top ten most expensive NFT mints of all time.
- The collection has traded for over $9.5M on secondary, but has seen its floor price fall to just .15 BTC.
- The highest Taproot Wizard sale is Wizard #1910, which sold for .87 BTC
($70K).
AI Copyright or Copy Wrong?
ChatGPT-4o got a major upgrade last week when its image generation received a significant buff. Users took to X to share their AI creations, which kickstarted a trend of Studio Ghibli-inspired art. A debate now rages on about copyright, IP, and how to solve this growing challenge. (Spoiler - NFTs and blockchain solve
this)
- Across X, users created images and videos using GPT-4o to generate Ghibli-style content.
- A debate rages on, calling out stolen content and copyright infringement running rampant. Most agree
that copyright law is outdated.
- NFTs, along with platforms/protocols like StoryProtocol, are examples of solutions that can prove provenance while allowing on-chain and automated licensing.
- Crypto AI saw its market cap fall by 3.53% in the past 7d to $5.8B.
- ElizaOS v2 and autodotfun (ai16z’s agent launchpad) will be launching over the next 2-4
weeks.
- Virtuals Protocol has updated its fee structure for AI Agent tokens. 70% of fees will go directly
to agent creator wallets, while 30% will go to the Agent Commerce Protocol.
- KindredAI has partnered with China’s top 4 IP, B. Duck, and also opened up NFT staking for their
upcoming $KIN token.

stability.

Prompt Engineering is the art and science of crafting inputs to get desired outputs from AI models. It’s becoming a vital skill in the age of large language models (LLMs), where the way you ask determines what you get. In Web3, prompt
engineering plays a key role in generating content, coding smart contracts, and even training AI-native NFTs that respond uniquely to users.
